The Antlers at Pitchfork Music Festival '09

I got The Antlers album (Hospice) about a week ago, and already have lost track of how many times I have listened to it since. It's kind of familiar, but kind of different, a little bit sad and a little bit dreamy. Definitely worth a listen. This video makes me wish I had gone to pitchfork again this year.

The Big Pink: Dominos [video]

I really like The Big Pink, but I don't necessarily REALLY like this song. Cool video though.

Eve, “Me N My (prod. by Salaam Remi & Benga)”

Never in a million years would I imagine writing something positive about Eve, who I normally can't stand, but goddamn this track is catchy. A huge part of it's appeal is clearly the beat, put together Salaam Remi and borrowed from UK dubstep legend Benga. Don't knock it till you hear it.

Hold De Line -It's Darth Baño Time

How do you remix a track as fucking jam packed and schizo as Major Lazer's Drop the Line? Well kids, watch and learn. Darth Baño a.k.a BATHROOMSEXXX of Ninjasonik fucking kills it.

Highlights From The Decemberists At Newport

Being unwilling to fork over the ABSURD amount of cash that last weekends Newport Folk Festival demanded, I sadly missed seeing the Decemberists, as well as a number of other great bands. Fortunately NPR was there, and thanks to them you can feel like you were to. As if this wasn't enough to further cement my love for them(at least as far as all things music go), they have also added the ability to embed their music player into a page.

Here are "Highlights From The Decemberists At Newport" (and coincidentally three of my very favorite Decemberists songs)

"The Crane Wife, Pt. 3"

"Yankee Bayonet (I Will Be Home Then)"

"Sons and Daughters"

W editorial of Bruce and Emma Willis. Images from wmagazine.com.

“I went from ‘F--- love’ to ‘Love is truly the answer,’” Willis says, acknowledging his transformation. “I spent the last 10 years single and, for the most part, unhappy. In a dark place. I never thought that being with someone else was the answer. I would say, ‘I’m alone, but I’m not lonely.’ But I was just kidding myself. Then I started hanging around Emma, and on a day-to-day basis my life became much happier.”
