I took Doxylamine to help me sleep. I have had trouble sleeping for the longest time due to ADHD, rapid thoughts/anxiety, lying in bed singing nonstop etc. In 20 minutes to a half an hour, I would start feeling sedated and was able to fall asleep. My biggest problem is lying in bed singing nonstop and once the medicine kicked in, I'd stop singing all at once and was able to fall asleep in 5-15 minutes or shorter. The only negative thing I can say about Doxylamine, the sleep aid, is that you wake up feeling groggy and hung over for a good couple of hours...at least with me anyway. Overall, GREAT & EFFECTIVE drug. I noticed some weight gain when I stopped it but my situation is different. I took it for a year and a half (not being aware of how long I was taking it) so my situation is not normal. I DON'T RECOMMEND taking this drug for over a year like I did. Consult with your doctor if you'll be using it long term. I didn't. I know shame shame. I have other factors in my weight, but I definitely gained weight from coming off it. Not sure how much though because like I said, I have other things going on.
